Rumours in the F1 circle had been going on for ages now, whether our own Robertus Magnum Papam Janus Bartuneck Ratzinger is related to the grande Gian Carlo Minardi.
Persistent rumours were saying that RJ's visit to Imola concerned a DNA test to establish whether there was some familiar relationship between our RJB and GCM.
The issue was raised some weeks ago when the small little photo of GCM at the top end of this page was confused by F1 enthusiats and supporters along the globe as that of our very own RJ.
The rumours were categorically denied by our website guru.
It is now going to take more than silly rumours or silly denials to answer this question : Was a grandfather of RJ a cousin of the granfather of GCM? Is RJ part of the Minardi dynasty? Will RJ inherit the man or the team?
Conspiracy theorists are claiming that RJ's interest in Minardi has to do with family matters.
Newspapers today were all filled with the same photos of RJ and FM.com splashed on their five column front pages. In it the extreme resemblances between the two men were confirmed.
Contacted again by the press today RJ and GCM refused to comment.
