  • You mean Manlio ?!
  • Yes guys,

    thanks!:D
I was well far away from the place of the attempt, that is in the old Cairo (the Khan el Khalili, traditional arabi bazaar that is now mainly a tourist attraction), I work in a suburb area just at the south of Cairo, so I did not even hear the bomb.

For sure the worry is that thereis a clear plan to destabilize the US-friendly arabic countries. This is the second attempt in Egypt (there was one in Taba, near Israel, in October, now they came to Cairo), and there was one in Qatar, plus several arrests in Oman and Saudi Arabia, but still you cannot live with the nightmare of the attempts, considering that the possibilities it to happen just to you are anyway minimal.

I just have to be a bit careful!
  • d'you have an alibis?

I guess you have to walk like an Egyptian - but carefully!
  • Guys,

this time I was really really close. I was in Sharm with friends, and we were driving into Naama when it happened. They immediately detoured us, and making a large round we parked 100 meters away from the Ghazala Hotel. We went there and we could see from the spot, all the operations by the police to seek for wounded and dead persons, all the ambulances and we also saw two bodies being taken out.
Then yesterday, while leaving Sharm, we passed through the Old Market Square, where the big bomb exploded, and there it is a really absolute mess.

Luckily we escaped without any damage, but we could have been thereabout when the bombs exploded, because the Ghazala Hotel is just at the entrance of the area with all the bars and restaurants, and we were planning to go for a few drinks to the Hard Rock Cafe, that is just 200 meters away from the Ghazala.

    M.

  • Shit, I didn't know that you were in sharm!
    It's crazy...

I was in Moscow last september the day of the attack at the metro (the day after there was Beslan) and I saw the ambulances and smoke, I was going straight to that place, I arrived 2 or 3 minutes after the splosions...
It looks like everyone of us is going sooner or later to be close to one of these things...
Let's hope to never get too close
