Piquet had a similar deal when he joined Benetton in 1990 (very small retainer, big points bonus) turned out to be the best car they built at the time and he earnt a fortune. They reversed the deal for '91 and the Pirelli tyres were shit so he stil earnt a fortune!!!!!
