Doc; hope to see you at Sepang.

My preference would be the April dates. I need to co-ordinate some client visits to get an overnighter in Sydney.
P.S. Spin's been quiet lately?
On a more serious note: do take some pictures
Best opportunity looks like the 4th.
Maybe do something like dinner in Darling Harbour; Cargo Bar maybe?
Look forward to seeing you and Piston.

where are you staying when in k.l.?
i know some top journos stay at the empress hotel at nilai near the circuit. not the same as being in k.l. but it's 15 minutes from the circuit as opposed 45 mins.
We are staying downtown and will be in touch with the good doctor.
Piston, at this point it will be lunch on the 3rd somewhare in Darling Harbour. Time will be 1-1:30. Will you be available?
Don't worry RJ we had a beer for you, make that 2,

but those sort of shots arn't allowed on this site!
Hope to catch up.
We have the Dinner and then the "Earth, Wind and Fire" concert tonight.
Are you going?
Don't know my moves over the weekend yet, but I'll be around. You can call me on 012 232 etc. (think trombones and quarter century), or let me know here if you don't have the number or can't work it out.

Anyhoo, we met, we had a drink. They were boring; I was fabulous, but that's nothing new.
Orrrrrr, It was a fun afternoon with topics ranging far and wide from something to do with motor cars (Pistonbroke & Viges are Lotus fetishists)through social justice, all the way to homosexuality (not that there's anything wrong...................).
I must sy that the hack is a interesting guy and was very pleased to catch up after all this time. Wish that we had been able to organise a relaxing dinner instead of me being all spacey from a six oclock flight and driving all over Sydney during the morning (little of which had anything to do with work). Not to mention worrying about traffic getting back to airport, blah, blah, blah.
Top outcome from the afternoon was Viges capturing and coining a new term; 'Minardi Taliban'. You can work out what that means.
I'll be doing my best to breast the channel in June/July to get over to London to try again when we make our Belgian pilgramage. Don't know how that will go though. How do the French say it "est-ce-que vous voulais traverse la manche a-la nage?" At least that's what the financial controller will be saying to my please. Never know though.
Maybe I was the first to see the Melbourne photos, Lease. Viges intends to post them when he gets back.
We had a leisurely dinner, couple of beers, a red, and a chat.
The former colonies got a few mentions, mainly because they have better racing circuits than the old dart, as well as colourful personalities of course.
Mrs Viges, we discovered, was a former hasher, which gave an immediate bonding with this jungle racer. Viges' own hill climbing experience I suspect would have been in a Austin 7 or something similar.
Anyway, we're looking forward to the book, and meeting up again in another five years.

Inaugural meetings of 'Campari Club Sydney' and 'Campari Club
KL' get off to riotous starts
Good to see the boys. I MUST have the record now for most FM.com 'meets', even beating RJ! A grand bunch. Even the mad mullahs.
PS I did climb a hill once. There's a very nice pub in Highgate ...
