All the best to top gear's Richard Hammond who got badly hurt in a crash whill attempting to break a speed record.

Poor guy. Rumor says he actually broke the record. Apparently the accident happened on the last run of the day when they were shooting some extra footage.

Sort of strange though. Seeing how reckless Jeremy Clarkson sometimes is. I always thought he would be the one most likely to get involved in an accident.

Doctors at Leeds General Infirmary said they were "reasonably optimistic" the 36-year-old would make a good recovery.

That sounds like some good news.

There's a difference between a good recovery and a full recovery. The Neurosurgeons said he had sustained serious brain injury, that suggests that there may be some degree of cognitive deficit should he recover.
James May was meant to drive the car. Looks like he had one look at it and came to his senses cos he said he was unavailable.
Its a shame because top gear have had some very good programs and it looks like trying to get more and more adventurous coverage has finally cuaght them out.

We've only been getting it a short time here, and we're getting old series, but it's quickly developing somewhat of a cult status almost.

Here's hoping the Hampster makes a full and speedy recovery.
