Todt: "Hinder Villeneuve!"
Norberto Fontana confirmed that Todt, a couple of hours before the start of the Jerez Gp 1997, ordered not only Eddie Irvine, but also the Sauber drivers (Sauber was Ferrari-powered at the time) to hinder as long as they could Villeneuve whenever they were close to him, during the race.
That was a "precise Ferrari orders".
Fontana blocked Villeneuve for 3-4 corners during the race, but at the end, due to the defeat, neither Todt nor Schumacher thanked anyone.
Oh well, nothing new under the sun. Villeneuve had his allies as well, during that race (Frentzen, Damon Hill, Hakkinen and Coulthard).
