Tredozi leaves Toro Rosso

Gabriele Tredozi leaves Toro Rosso

The takeover of Minardi by Red Bull was always going to lead to staff changes at the Italian team as the plan from the start was for Scuderia Toro Rosso to have its chassis designed by Red Bull Racing in England (when that becomes legal in 2008). This meant that there would be little apart from manufacturing for the people in Faenza and so it is no surprise that the former technical director of the team Gabriele Tredozi has departed. Tredozi has been in charge of design at Minardi for almost 10 years, having moved into the position when Aldo Costa moved to Ferrari back in 1997.

Tredozi has been with the team since he graduated from the celebrated engineering school at Bologna University.

  • well I guess as they don't design their own car they can do without designers
  • One would think they would have to at least design the 2007 car on their own.
  • Anyone know what his plans are ??

best of luck to him whatever he does.
  • From grandprix.com it says that Gerhard Berger is trying to get Giorgio Ascanelli who he has worked with him in his f1 career as technical director.

They also say that some of the design staff from RBR are most likely changing contracts to Toro Rosso to design the 2007 car.

So it sounds to me Tredozi left because of this.
  • Good luck to Tredozi, at STR there was no future, so i would say he did right.
