The Ottoman forces lost the Great Siege of Malta aginst the Maltese and the Knights of Saint John.

Seriously - does malta grow wine - or have a special brewery - or is it something like Ouzo? You must have some sort of national drink?

We have both wine (most of the grapes are available and harvested in Malta) and beer industry, obviously on a small scale.

Yes, we have our particular beer but it does not differ too much from other beers.

A speciality in Malta is a liqour made from prickle-pears if you know what I mean, it sells well with tourists but ironically I do not think it is popolur with Maltese.
