Another fine mess you've got Minardi into Mr Stoddart
:spank:
God this bloke amazes me. He makes the cock up and blames others for HIS mistakes.
Look Mr Stoddart you did'nt get the car ready in time, thats it period!
People think I'm always persecuting Paul, well can you REALLY blame me? Look the old Minardi, even if they had the late Cosworth takeover, would have shut up, put their heads down and worked like hell to get the car ready for Melbourne. If they made it or not would be immaterial, but I can tell you something now, you certainly would have got a lot more sympathy for your cause. Certainly more than shouting your mouth off about how you had no chance of getting the car ready for Melbourne and sitting on your hands RELYING on the fact that you'd get special dispensation to race. This is NOT how Minardi should be run, it's f**king embarrassing. Pissed off....? Too bloody right I'm pissed off, this team has been going down the tubes for far too long. I hope he jacks it all in and lets Minardi either be sold off to someone who cares about what Minardi stands for or lets it die with respect.
Hows the new sponsors going to feel about this? Hows the drivers sponsors going to feel knowing that they paid for 17 races for their drivers yet are only going to get a maximum of 16 races for their money? Would they get their money back?
They'd deserve their money back!
It must be so disheartening for the boys in the garage always working hard to be subjected to this.
Blaming it all on other people Mr Stoddart is not being a responsible team owner, so EVERY problem seems to be not HIS problem.....he always wants everyone else to give him hand outs, give special dispensation etc etc. F1 ain't a charity, if you can't play with the big boys....pack up and bloody go home.

The piece of the story that interests me is,
quote:
'Stoddart, who has brought an army of lawyers and three QC's with him to Melbourne to fight his case.....'
Does Stoddart pay for this out of his own pocket?
I think as a Minardi fan this is the lowest the team has sunken.
Btw, what are QC's ??
The ITV article Matt links to has a "Minardi Merchandise"link on the bottom o the article.
Check i tout, they have some great stuff !!!!!!

dude, where is my Minardi?
i mean I'm actually quite amazed that there are people in here who believe that Stoddy does all this on purpose! He agreed to last minute regulation changes because he thought that he would be allowed to run the old car for the beginning of the season. It's not that Minardi isn't going to build a new car at all in which case I could understand your concerns. It's just not ready yet.
but then again, if i got a quid for every time i heard a doom and gloom story of this kind (which then didn't materialise) I could retire quite comfortably. Minardi will race on Sunday even if this means divine intervention (that means you, Bernie)
'Taking Silk' means taking the Monarch's silk-bound charter.
(*as in Max Mosley QC).

The only explanation I can come up with that explains Stoddart's behaviour is that Bernie has bet him $10million that he couldn't get all the other pirhanas to allow him to run to more favourable rules.
The PS05 is now the most important Minardi ever - if it fails, what's left?
If you don't like the way Stoddart runs HIS team you can "pack up and bloody go home"
I'm looking forward to this year, we will have an all new car. We will have a great engine package.
If we don't get to race here (which I believe we will) so be it. I'll be dissappointed, but I won't be blaming the Team or its owner. they are all doing there best and I support all of them 100%.
Why focus only on the political negatives when no one here has the complete facts.

As for Tas, perhaps Stoddart is doing his level best, perhaps this is the way he does things, perhaps he really has changed this team into being nothing but a political pawn......
Like I said, I just sit here waiting that one day, he'll sell up and get out and give it to someone who does'nt sell all their heritage at auction. Someone who appreciates the way a proper racing team made up of people who 'JUST want to go racing' should be run........At the moment Minardi, in my opinion is being run by Oxfam.....

This is probably the worst day as a Minardi fan I have ever had.
I wonder what GCM is thinking/feeling right about now.
Matt, I personally am afraid that IF the team will be sold one day, the name and heritage will RIP (like what is happening to Jordan and Midland) !!!!:(
guys easy. you can (if you will) blame stoddie for this (very difficult) situation but the question is, is he guilty of malice aforethought? did he really think: boy I really want to fuck up minardi big time today so I'll just come up with an old car just to piss everybody off big time.
i seriously don't think this is the case! he tries hard to keep the team going (after all there is a lot of his own money involved) and I'm sure things will look much better in Imola!
I also dont see this as Minardi's lowest of low points. Think late 2000 when the team was up for sale, Telefonica pulled out and we were left with no car, no drivers and no money. Who saved us? Paul Stoddart. He may seem crazy, but he's kept the team alive - even given us some of Minardi's most memorable moments. (Melbourne 2002) Everyone praised him for what he did with Minardi in 2002, yet 3 years later he's scored by those same people. It's a shame. :(
They are now known as 'SCs' (Senior Counsel) in Australia.
