  • Isn't Superfund an Austrian company as well?
  • Yes, they are.
  • Maybe it's related to both Patrick and Superfund ;)
  • would go but it's winter and too far away, couldn't do it in one day.
  • According to F1central Friesacher will be in the second Minardi.

"Austrian Patrick Friesacher is almost certain to become Christijan Albers’ team-mate at Minardi in 2005. Zsolt Baumgartner and Nicolas Kiesa no longer seem to be in the picture and the team is expected to announce Friesacher’s signing next Tuesday.

Earlier this week is was reported that Friesacher was aiming for a position as test driver with the Italian team. At that time Kiesa was the man most likely for Minardi’s second seat, but apparently the Dane was said to have hit financial trouble.

All will become clear next Tuesday when Minardi will make an announcement in Velden, Austria."

Could we be looking at a black and green PS05???
  • how's the guy? is he any good?
Superfund has been a loyal sponsor, I like'em a lot. And black & green would be nice for the livery.
  • They guy did alright in F3000, better than Zsolt and Kiesa points wise, tho Doornbos beat him in 2004. Hes been in F3000 since 2000(i think) so would know most European circuits. Cant find an official website for the guy either. Heres a link to standings :

Damn, almost like a real F1 site journo ;) :runs:
  • now what shall i wear? will be a bit cold in my forza tee :hehe:
  • A second division drivers, but light years ahead of Kiesa and Albers interms of ability. Plus he knows all the european tracks from 3 years in F3000. All in all a positive result.
  • now what shall i wear?
If you have any sense you won't wear that terrible stripey shirt we saw you in last time, nor the all in white suit either........Ejection from the conference could be a strong possibility if you do not adhere to these rules!!! :P
  • but all my shirts are stripey:rolleyes:
  • well I do not believe that nudity will be tolerated........

    How about going like this?

  • Just don't wear that all white outfit you were filmed in.
  • Caribbean pimp/casino owner gear is forbidden, no matter if you print a forza logo in the back.

Try double t-shirt: a white long sleeves inside with the forza black covering.

BTW how about sending you some dosh and you lending us the forza logo to rpint our own shirts? You won't have my size and I'd like to have mine!
  • now what shall i wear? will be a bit cold in my forza tee :hehe:
Break out that bling bling pimp outfit you wore to the DrinkX gig :hehe:
  • A little teaser from GrandPrix.com:
    The spotlight moves to Austria
Later today at the Casino in Velden, a town on the Worther See near Klagenfurt, in Austria Minardi is expected to reveal whether Patrick Friesacher will be the team's second driver this year or whether he will be the third driver. The team had been very close to a deal to put Nicolas Kiesa in a car but it seems that the Dan's money did not materialise. The big question, therefore, is whether or not Friesacher has managed to get the backing he needs to grab the last available seat in Formula 1.

If he does sign to race for the team, Friesacher will give Minardi a strong driver line-up with both the Austrian and Dutchman Christijan Albers both being proven winners throughout their careers.

We should know by around 4pm European time.
  • We should know by around 4pm European time.
Lets see... in real tim e that ought to be about 7 am. Cool.

Can;t wait to see that little word "Fabiana" in my inbox!
  • Friesacher himself hinted at 3rd driver role (from Crashf1.net):
Friesacher knew that he would be in a long line of candidates behind Kiesa, who was thought to have sourced sufficient sponsorship from his native Denmark to take his place on the grid.

Public Sport therefore suggested that Friesacher, who is understood to have met with Stoddart in London last weekend, would settle for a testing role with either team, rather than return to GP2 after four seasons in the preceding F3000 series.

"It was a double disappointment, but it came down to the failure to find enough money, rather than any sporting aspect," Friesacher is quoted as saying, "However, testing will give me the chance to prove what I can do, and maybe recommend me for other chances that will arise in the future."
BTW Quig: who's Fabiana? Any pics??

  • Fabiana - pics. But of course. Lets see if RJ brings any current ones back.
